Yeast Face Mask

What to do when you do not want to resort to serious cosmetic services like Botox or laser therapy but wish to prolong your youth? It is impossible to stop aging, but it is possible to slow it down. Increasingly popular are home treatments. After all, you can choose the freshness of the product, select the necessary components and be sure that they will not harm your skin. One of the great remedies that help in the fight not only with wrinkles but also with other imperfections – is a mask of yeast.

How Does Yeast Work?

Yeast contains in its composition a large number of vitamins and trace elements, which are necessary for skin nutrition. Yeast extracts are often added to cosmetic products.

  • B vitamins are a metabolic stimulator, accelerating the epidermis renewal and toning the skin.
  • Antioxidants reduce the effects of free radicals that promote cell aging.
  • Yeast is a source of amino acids necessary for protein synthesis. It also increases the activity of fibroblasts – cells involved in producing collagen and elastin.
  • By secreting enzymes, yeast regulates protein and lipid metabolism, which helps control the level of oiliness or dryness of the skin.
  • Yeast stimulates the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, which retain moisture in the skin, increasing its elasticity and firmness.

Preparing The Mask

Homemade masks are pretty inconsistent. It is important to follow the technology of preparation and storage.

  1. It is best to choose either beer yeast or live-pressed yeast. They contain all the necessary elements.
  2. Dry yeast must first be crumbled, then add warm, but not hot, water or milk. The mixture should be left to ferment for 15-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Liquid yeast requires no additional preparation. They are added immediately in an amount equal to the mixture of dry and milk.
  4. Mask should not be used more than 2-3 times a week. It is better to do a monthly course on procedures.
  5. Mask applied immediately after preparation. It is not suitable for storage. The components quickly lose their properties.
  6. Before use, it is necessary to check for any allergic reactions to the components. You must apply the composition to a small skin area, preferably on the hand. If in 10 minutes there is no reaction, you can use it.
  7. To enhance the effect, you can wash off the mask with a decoction of herbs, or after the mask, you can apply a moisturizer.

Recipes For Yeast Masks

The components of the masks are interchangeable because the main active ingredient is yeast. This is what makes the product so convenient. You can use products that you have at home.

Mask for dry skin

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Warm milk – 1 tbsp.
  • Coconut oil – 1 tsp.
  • Honey – 1 tsp.

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, then add the butter and honey. Coconut oil can be replaced by any other oil – olive oil or grape seed oil. The mask provides excellent hydration and nourishment of the dermis.

Mask for oily skin

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Warm green tea – 1 tbsp.
  • Aloe juice or gel – 1 tbsp.

The composition is best applied on a steamed face. Green tea cleanses pores and reduces sebum production, while aloe juice does not allow the skin to dry out and soften it well.

Mask for problem skin

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Warm kefir – 1 tbsp.
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp.

Kefir in the composition helps to cleanse and exfoliate the skin, and lemon juice fights the increased production of sebum and evens the tone. But citric acid is quite aggressive, so this mask is applied only for 10 minutes and is done once a week.

Nourishing Mask

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Warm milk – 1 tbsp.
  • Mashed potato of half a banana or pulp of half an avocado.

This is a very delicate mask. It is suitable for normal skin. The components help to strengthen the epidermal barrier and preserve youthfulness.

Rejuvenating mask

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Warm milk – 1 tbsp.
  • Egg white – 1 egg white.
  • Honey – 1 tsp.

The honey in such a mask enhances the antioxidant properties of the yeast and provides an additional lifting effect.

Whitening Mask

  • Dry yeast – 1 tbsp.
  • Hydrogen peroxide 3% – 2 tsp.

The mixture must be stirred quickly as it begins to bubble. The mask should be applied to the skin while it reacts. Peroxide is a brightening and disinfecting component, so the mask is suitable for pigmented skin or if there are traces of post-acne. It is recommended to keep the mixture for no more than 7 minutes, then moisturize your face.

Yeast facial masks are some of the most effective home treatments. The components in the composition cleanse, nourish and moisturize the skin. The mask is also used as an express treatment before the event or morning gatherings at work. It is quickly prepared and is enough to keep the composition for 10-15 minutes.
